"Donald Wardlow is a musician, Vietnam Veteran, and good friend. I met Donald when we started renting our Trade Street Studio, since Donald comes by once a week to wash all the windows and clean the building, which he does nearly every day for many businesses in Winston. As he is homeless, Donald sets his guitar and backpack down while cleaning windows. One day someone grabbed his guitar and ran off. When I heard about this I bought this guitar for Donald, but he simply refused to take something as a gift, offering to work it off cleaning. I suggested he pose for a few sketches and paintings instead and this is one of the ones I did of him. I think I enjoy hearing his stories as much as I do painting and drawing him."

Biographical excerpt from Grand Central Academy website

Carla Crawford graduated with degrees in Art Studio and Italian from the University of California, Davis, where she studied under the painters David Hollowell and Wayne Thiebaud. While at the University of California, she spent a year in exchange at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy and an additional year studying at the Institute of Architecture in Venice. After graduating in Italy, she remained in the country for six months teaching art and art history and making master copies at the country's national museums. She returned to California to pursue a graduate degree in Art Education at San Francisco State University and taught art in public schools for three years while studying at the Atelier School of Classical Realism in Oakland. Deciding to devote her full time efforts to drawing and painting in the classical tradition, Carla moved to New York to study with Jacob Collins at the Water Street Atelier. She has been an artist-in-residence at the School of the Arts in San Francisco and at the Hudson River Landscape Fellowship and received the Alfred Ross Grant for Artistic Excellence. She co-curated the Giorgio Morandi and Wayne Thiebaud show at the Morandi Museum in Bologna, Italy. Her work is exhibited at the Winfield Gallery and in the permanent collection of the Crocker Art Museum in California. She teaches painting and drawing at the San Francisco Academy of Art University and at Grand Central Academy of Art.

Justin Taylor-(b. 1976) American, studied at the Brigham Young University in Utah before continuing his training at the Art Student's League in New York. His work has garnered him numerous awards from such prestigious institutions as the Portrait Society of America and the Springville Museum of Art. In his paintings, Mr. Taylor conveys an emotional connection between artist and model that is sensed by the viewer. His work is more interpretive than narrative, as he wants the viewer to create their own reality with their emotional connection. His paintings have exhibited throughout the United States in such distinguished venues as The Butler Institute of American Art, the Utah Museum of Fine Art and the Salmagundi Club in New York City.

Edward Minoff Graduated with honors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Throughout his high school and college years he studied painting and sculpture at the Art Students League of New York, The National Academy School of Design, and later at Vassar College. He has also copied works at the Louvre, Prado, and the Metropolitan Museum, where he subsequently taught a class in copying master works. After co-founding the animation house, AMPnyc, he began to study at the Water Street Atelier. In 1999 the lure of the studio became irresistible and he left hes animation company to fully devote himself to painting. Later, he journeyed to Italy to study at the Florence Academy of Art. Hes work has shown in New York, San Francisco, Sante Fe, Washington DC, Houston, Greenwich and Nantucket. He now resides in Brooklyn with his wife, son and bulldog.
